Canarie2026 | Vacanza per sole cicliste

A women-only cycling trip to the Canary Islands. A 400km gravel adventure from island to island, exploring Lanzarote, La Graciosa, and Fuerteventura, for unforgettable experiences. The journey is unsupported, with overnight stays in hotels.

NEXT DEPARTURE: 14/21 NOVEMBER 2026

DAYS: 8

LENGHT: 400km

POSITIVE GAIN: 5.020m D+

DIFFICULTY: 8/10

We’ll ride a gravel route through three of the eight Canary Islands, the archipelago just off the coast of Africa, where the climate is mild and sunny year-round.

We’ll begin in wild Lanzarote, where surfer beaches meet volcanoes and natural parks—it’ll feel like riding on the moon. Next, it’s the turn of small and quiet La Graciosa, where there are no paved roads, just pristine nature and heavenly beaches. Finally, we’ll cross Fuerteventura, from the barren desert landscapes of the interior to the white beaches just waiting to be explored. Along the route, there will, of course, be plenty of stops to visit traditional villages, taste local products, and take a dip in the sea. The travel method is unsupported, meaning everyone will carry their own luggage and there will be no support vehicles. The kilometers and elevation gain aren’t many, but the route is primarily gravel, so it requires a minimum of technique and the desire to get dusty. Overnight stays, however, will always be in hotel or resort so you can rest well. We’ll sleep in a variety of accommodations: from all-inclusive resorts to rural fincas and apartments; sometimes in double rooms, sometimes in triple rooms where there aren’t any large accommodations.

This is a journey suitable for trained cyclists who love gravel and adventure… but there will also be a touch of luxury! You can participate with either gravel bikes or mountain bikes; not suitable for road bikes!

STAGES

As soon as we land at Lanzarote Airport, we’ll reassemble our bikes and start riding straight to Arrecife, where we’ll have lunch. Once we reach our hotel on Costa Teguise, we’ll take a swim and have a short briefing. Overnight at the resort, with dinner and breakfast.

We’ll start immediately on a dirt road with views of the volcanoes, then continue on asphalt along the coast towards Orzola. If we’re interested, we can stop to visit the Casa Manrique Cactus Garden; otherwise, we’ll immediately take the ferry to La Graciosa, where we’ll feel like we’ve arrived in another world. No asphalt, just gravel and sand roads, whitewashed houses, and dreamy coves. After checking into our villa and donning our swimsuits, we’ll set off to explore the island by bike… Dinner at a restaurant in Caleta de Sebo.

Once we return to Lanzarote by ferry, we’ll immediately tackle one of the most challenging days of the trip in terms of elevation gain. But don’t worry, we’ll have plenty of breaks: at the Mirador del Rio for a breathtaking view of La Graciosa, in picturesque Teguise for lunch, and in Caleta Famara to watch the surfers. We’ll ride along dreamy gravel trails, which will make you fall in love with Lanzarote, and then arrive in Tinjao. Overnight stay, dinner, and breakfast at a finca with a pool.

We’ll cross Los Volcanoes Natural Park and Timanfaya National Park, amidst expanses of craters, volcanic cones, and lava fields… it’ll truly feel like cycling on the moon! Before taking the ferry to Fuerteventura, we’ll go for a swim and relax on the beach of Playa Blanca. Overnight stay in B&B in Corralejo, with dinner at a restaurant.

Fuerteventura will amaze you first with its beautiful dirt road along the coast of El Cotillo, teeming with surfers, then with its barren, desert-like interior: you’ll feel light years away from cities and civilization. If the wind is favorable, we’ll enjoy a lovely lunch break by the sea in Puertito de los Molinos, before climbing to Betancuria, a charming colonial village and the ancient capital of Fuerteventura. Overnight stay in several apartments where we’ll prepare our own dinner and breakfast.

Leaving Bencuria, we’ll ride the most beautiful climb of the entire trip towards Pajarà, on asphalt, before returning to dirt roads through the desert landscape. Once we leave the hinterland, we’ll head back down towards the sea to ride along the famous Sotavento Beach, before arriving in the touristy Morro Jable. Dinner, overnight stay, and breakfast at the resort.

Today we’ll ride lightly! After dropping off our bags at the resort, we’ll head to Cofete, one of the wildest and largest beaches in all of Fuerteventura. We’ll get there along a spectacular gravel trail with breathtaking sea views. We’re now at the southernmost tip of Fuerteventura; if we have time and inclination, we can also ride to the Punta Jandia Lighthouse. Overnight stay, dinner, and breakfast at the resort.

In the morning, we’ll pack up our bikes and then relax on the beach. In the afternoon, we’ll transfer to the airport.
