NEXT DEPARTURE: 22/31 OCTOBER 2026

DAYS: 10
LENGHT: 615km
POSITIVE GAIN: 8.140m D+
DIFFICULTY: 8/10
This isn’t a tour; it’s a true adventure to discover Morocco, where we’ll pamper ourselves by staying in charming Riads.
We’ll ride mostly on secondary roads and dirt tracks, but occasionally we’ll find ourselves on wide roads and in chaotic city traffic. We’ll climb the legendary Tizin’t Test Pass to cross the Atlas Mountains, ride through barren mountains covered in argan trees, and along dreamy roads with sea views. And then there are magical cities waiting to be discovered, such as Marrakech, Taroudant, and Essaouira.
The travel method is unsupported, meaning each rider will carry its own luggage and there will be no support vehicles. Kilometers and elevation gain —especially in two stages — are challenging, so this trip is suitable for trained cyclists who want to challenge themselves! Overnight stays, however, will always be in hotels so we will rest well: we’ll sleep primarily in charming Riads in double rooms. Half board is included.
PRICE PER PERSON: 2.200€

STAGES
After landing in Marrakech, the transfer will take us, with our bikes still packed, to our Riad in the Medina. Here, we’ll have a short briefing, before heading out to explore this chaotic and incredible city, exchanging money and buying phone cards. Dinner is free at one of the stalls in Jamaa el-Fnaa Square. Overnight stay and breakfast in a traditional Riad.
After breakfast, we’ll reassemble our bikes and prepare for departure. The stage begins amidst the chaotic traffic of Marrakech, but as we move away from the city and off the main road, the traffic lightens and the adventure begins. We’ll spend the night in a charming hotel on the shores of Lake Lalla Takerkoust, with two beautiful pools for some relax. Dinner will be served at the same property.
We set off along a beautiful dirt track that runs along the lake, passing through small villages. After the bustling town of Amizmiz, where we’ll stock up for lunch, we begin climbing through the Atlas Mountains. The finish is downhill with a spectacular view of Lake Ouirgane, where we’ll have dinner and spend the night in a very welcoming Riad, where we can also take a dip in the pool.
This is one of the most challenging days of the tour, both in terms of elevation gain and because the first part of the route involves numerous construction sites, trucks, and a lot of dust. The climb to the legendary Tizin’t Test pass at 2,100 meters above sea level is very long but steady. The second part of the climb is more challenging, but also traffic-free, and will reward us with spectacular views of the High Atlas. Overnight stay and dinner in an elegant Riad.
An easy day to recharge our batteries. After crossing the dry Sousse Riverbed on a gravel trail, we’ll cycle through the Sousse Valley along a smooth road that will quickly take us to lively Taroudant—the little Marrakech—where we’ll have lunch in the main square. The afternoon is free to explore the city or relax by the pool. Dinner and overnight stay in a beautiful Riad near the city walls.
This stage is divided into two: the first part is flat and zigzags through the countryside, small villages, and the main road (which does have a designated bike area). The second part takes us on a traffic-free road that climbs through the hills before descending towards Agadir. Here, we’ll encounter argan trees for the first time, which will accompany us for the rest of the journey. Upon arrival, there will be time for a pleasant stroll along Agadir’s waterfront. Dinner and overnight stay at a hotel.
We set off at dawn for the toughest stage of the journey. In the first 45 kilometers, we’ll tackle two long climbs with challenging gradients, requiring us also to ration water and food. After passing the village of Tamzrgourte in Paradise Valley, we won’t have any more opportunities to refuel for many kilometers. Once at the summit, a long dirt descent awaits us, with some fairly technical sections, but offering breathtaking views of the mountains and the sea. Dinner, overnight stay and breakfast in a simple, family-run hotel.
Despite the significant elevation gain today, the stage is so beautiful that it flows effortlessly. We begin riding along the coast on the main road, which isn’t overly busy and offers spectacular views. We’ll have a long lunch break at a small restaurant right on Imsouane beach, watching the surfers ride the waves. It’ll be tough to get going again, but the second half of the stage is also fantastic, with long stretches on dirt tracks. Dinner and overnight stay are in a charming guesthouse in Tafedna, where it’s best to arrive early to relax by the pool.
The final stage zigzags between the coast and the hinterland, partly on asphalt and partly on dirt tracks. Before reaching Essaourira, we’ll pass another famous surfing beach, Sidi Kaouiki, where we’ll stop for lunch. Dinner, overnight stay, and breakfast at a hotel just outside the medina.
Free morning to explore Essaouira‘s beautiful pedestrian medina overlooking the ocean. In the afternoon, we’ll dismantle and pack our bikes, then transfer to Marrakech airport (approximately 3 hours). End of services.
